Emergency Surgical Approach in Type-3 Endoleak Treatment: Case Report

Abstract

A 69-year-old patient who underwent endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) with abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) diagnosis and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) 8 years ago was admitted to our hospital with a sudden onset abdominal and back pain complaint. On contrast computed tomography (CT) examination, rotation of the stent limbs developed and left iliac stent prolapse it was found that the active bleeding was caused by this region. During the operation, opening of the aneurysm suture revealed that the stent main body and the left iliac extension were separated and active bleeding was caused from this region. By placing a clamp on the iliac crest of the main stent body; bleeding was controlled by sending a foley probe into the iliac extension. Between the main body and iliac extension was anastomosed with 8mm Dacron graft 5/0 prolene suture. After the operation, the patient was admitted to the intensive care unit for 1 day. The patient who had no problem with the service follow-up was discharged on the 4th day after the operation.
